How many lessons will I need? +
It depends on you, and Jamal will tell you honestly after your first lesson. Some students are test-ready in 5 sessions, others need more. Most first-time learners do well with the 10-hour package. Jamal would rather give you a real number than oversell hours you don't need.
Why are the 5 and 10-hour packages split into 100-minute lessons? +
A 60-minute lesson loses real time to pickup, settling in, and warm-up. 100-minute lessons give you more actual driving time per session and let Jamal work through complex skills properly without rushing — leading to faster, better progress.
Where do you pick up and drop off? +
Across the Gold Coast — Southport, Surfers Paradise, Robina, Burleigh, Broadbeach, Coomera, Helensvale, Nerang, and surrounding suburbs. Pick-up and drop-off from your home, work, university, or wherever suits you is included in every lesson and test package — no extra cost.
I have an overseas licence — can you help me convert it? +
Yes — this is one of Jamal's specialties. Many of his students come from countries with very different driving conditions and rules. He focuses on the gap between what you already know and what Australian roads demand.
What's the difference between the Mock Test and the Standard Test package? +
The Mock Test ($100) is a rehearsal — realistic test conditions with feedback so you know what to expect. The Standard Test Package ($250) is for your actual test day — pre-test warm-up, use of Jamal's training car for the test itself, and pick-up/drop-off. Many students do both: the mock first, then the standard package on test day.
I'm really nervous. Is that going to be a problem? +
No — and you're far from alone. A huge proportion of Jamal's five-star reviews come from students who arrived nervous and left confident. Calm instruction is what he's known for.
Do you provide the car for the test? +
Yes — included in the Standard Test Package. The dual-control vehicle is fully maintained, insured, and the same car you'll have practiced in. No surprises on test day.
What happens after I submit a booking request? +
Jamal personally receives every booking request and will call or message you back — usually within a few hours, often sooner — to confirm a specific time that suits you both. No automated waitlists, no chasing.
